I mentioned that this piece was rare. Rare meaning, rare for me. I am a big Marilyn Monroe fan, and over the course of my artistic lifetime, I have only used her as a subject a handful of times. Marilyn Monroe is difficult to work with. Her beauty and essence is hard to replicate (properly, in my opinion). However, Friday night I wanted to work on art, but didn't want to spend a bunch of time on research. I have a large collection of original Marilyn Monroe photographs, so I scanned them and found a useful pose, so I went to work. While some of the elements are similar as 'Dreams of Lilith', I enjoyed the story and composition of this piece, giving her an image of rising again from the ashes.
