Archives
In 2007, I decided to streamline my gallery into a modern and archival catalog. This section houses the early years of my work. I started working in digital art in 1995, back when a person connected to the internet at speeds of 14.4 kbps, and paid $3 per hour to surf. There were prescious few artists working in digital art in 1995, and the lackluster speed of the internet made it difficult to find mentors, resources or examples - artists were left to experiment on their own, which was chellenging in it's own right.
These were the fledgling years of digital art - and wide open for a person to make his mark, create his own style without the influence of mass-media imposing on it. I will always consider myself fortunate to have worked in this medium from it's early beginnings, stumbling around trying to discover how to express my ideas in a new, non-traditional way.
Computing speed was an important factor in digital art, and being experienced in print production, I built my work in high resolution, which meant large file sizes that became difficult for my computer and video card to process. Starting from a "pizza-box" 66 mHz PowerMac, my computer was unable to keep up with my work about every year and a half - requiring constant upgrades. The advantage to constant upgrading of my workstation was the constant growth of my work by allowing me to work with more texture, detail and depth, which can be seen as the years progress.
Artwork is categorized by years created from 2006 back to 1995. All prints in this section have been sold out and are unavailable.
